A Very Special Benefit Concert
Please join us for a night of stellar jazz! Mike Stern (guitar) and Bill Evans (sax) reunite to perform with Keith Carlock (drums), Gary Grainger (bass), and Leni Stern (guitar). Diana Krall will be making a special appearance to perform solo on piano! Austin DJ Kevin Connor will be our host for the night. MTF is honored that these luminaries are coming together for this benefit concert -- what a truly amazing band of supporters!
Musician Treatment Foundation helps injured professional musicians with free upper limb orthopedic care when they cannot afford this essential care they need. MTF's distinguished Board of Directors is chaired by founder Dr. O. Alton Barron and includes Elvis Costello, Rosanne Cash, Diana Krall, and John Leventhal. The Board contributes along with a tremendous band of supporters to keep the music playing for us all. Thanks to their generosity Dr. Barron and our nationwide Physicians for Musicians network, MTF has helped hundreds of musicians with care valued at nearly $3 million.
Parker Jazz Club is a beautiful cool basement lounge designed by a musician for musicians. Kris Kimura, a woodwind specialist, vocalist, composer, arranger, and bandleader for over 20 years, opened the club in 2018 and has hosted phenomenal local, national, and international acts. Kris has been a supporter of many music nonprofits, including MTF which chose Parker Jazz for part of its Musician Monday series during the COVID-19 pandemic and for its Together Again VIP Night on July 23, 2021 featuring Bill Evans, Mike Stern, Keith Carlock, and Viktor Krauss.
Kevin Connor is the early morning weekday DJ and host of "A Hill Country Saturday" on Sun Radio.
An exciting live auction, conducted by Kevin Connor, will include two newly autographed guitars; one Yamaha electric guitar donated by Strait Music and signed by Mike Stern, Leni Stern, Gary Grainger, Keith Carlock, and Bill Evans, and one PRS electric guitar donated by PRS Guitars and signed by Paul Reed Smith and Gary Grainger.
All tickets include complimentary drinks and one benefit poster.
